The AFC Retreeat has facilities capable of housing up to 110 persons during summer and 80 persons during winter. Motel rooms are A/C, heated with a private bathroom. A rustic youth lodge and cabins are also availaable. Additionally, there are RV sites with water and electrical hook-ups, and a dump station nearby. Tenting site available with no hook-ups. A large fully equipped main kitchen and dining hall accommodates 100 persons. A smaller snack bar kitchen and recreation hall/dining area can accommodate about 45 persons. Groups may rent the AFC kitchens to prepare and serve their own meals. Guests also have access to the Rec Hall, Pavillion, and Tabernacle. We are .lLocated on Rt. 28 near Huntersville.

Elk River's cabins are centrally located in the small town of Slatyfork. All major county attractions are just a short drive away. Hickory and Hemlock log cabins are 1.5 miles from the base of Snowshoe Mtn Resort in a quiet wooded meadow. The other two cabins are located on the headwaters of the Elk River, 4.5 miles from the resort. Groups of 4-10 people recommended. Three of the cabins have phones and all have satellite TV. Linens, full kitchen, dishwasher, outdoor grill, wireless internet access and hot tub are some of the amenities that are included. Reasonably priced for weekends or multi-day getaways. Breakfast can be arranged through the Elk River Inn. Pets are welcome in two cabins with reservation and deposit.

Nola’s House is a spacious family home built at the turn of the century for owner’s family. Nola’s House is close to historical sites such as the Pocahontas Court House and Pearl Buck’s Home and Museum, along with all of Pocahontas County’s outdoor experiences-hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, and downhill and cross country skiing, canoeing, kayaking and/or simple country drives.

The Rose family home is just off Rt. 219, near the Court House; it’s comfortable and spacious, can sleep twelve, and has two baths with two showers, (optional claw foot bathtub doubles as a shower); linens are provided, along with washer and dryer, and internet access. All the comforts of home await you. No smoking or family pets allowed on premises, however.
