The Pocahontas County Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted entrepreneur Joe Veneto from Boston Massachusetts on Wednesday May 6 at the Pocahontas Opera House. About 40 business owners were on hand as Joe, commonly known as the “opportunity guy” suggested ways travel suppliers could work with not only each other but with area attractions and other providers to develop packages for travelers.
Veneto is an expert on the design, marketing and promotion of tour packages. He collaborates with destination marketers, travel suppliers and operators to create compelling packages. He is the author of The Travel Packaging System, a comprehensive guide to creating compelling travel packages.
Abbey Withrow, President and CEO of the CVB said, “In a time when travelers have so many options available to them offered through the Internet, travel providers have the chance to develop some really creative packaging ideas. Our county is packed with fun events, luxurious sleeping accommodations, and exceptional attractions. Packaging lets the traveler have access to those quickly and easily.”
CVB staff will begin working with suppliers on special packaging offers. Those suppliers missing the meeting who want to participate in the program can call the CVB office at 304.799.4636.
