Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

Traverse the Highland Scenic Highway’s 23 miles of unplowed roadway for a picturesque journey to scenic vistas. However, it’s crucial to exercise caution, as the Highland Scenic Highway is not maintained during the winter. Park at the northern access point (off Route 219 N) or the southern access point (off Route 39 W, across from the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center) and embark on a seasonal expedition surrounded by the untouched beauty of Nature’s Mountain Playground.
The Greenbrier River Trail State Park is a winter haven spanning Hillsboro, Marlinton and Cass.
