Handley Wildlife Management Area

Situated on 784 acres near the Williams River within the Monongahela National Forest, the Handley Wildlife Management Area provides hunters with 13 campsites for tents or trailers, along with restroom facilities and a clean water source. Game commonly found here includes deer, bear, turkey, grouse, woodcock and waterfowl. View the Handley Wildlife Management Area map here.

Hevener Farm at Deer Creek

Located north of Green Bank, Hevener Farm at Deer Creek spans over 1,000 acres of rich meadowland. Bordering this property is a 1,600-acre private farm, the Monongahela National Forest and 2,600 acres of National Public Radio Astronomy Observatory land. The Hevener Farm generously opens its land for limited hunts each season, making it a coveted destination for hunters in the region.

Cranberry Wildlife Management Area

Cranberry Wildlife Management Area encompasses 15,814 acres of mountainous terrain with elevations ranging from 1,900 to 4,600 feet. This area is known for its deer, bear, squirrel and turkey populations. Access to Cranberry Wildlife Management Area can be reached via the Highland Scenic Highway. Calvin Price State Forest

Calvin Price State Forest covers 9,482 acres and is designated as an older-age deer management area. In addition to deer, hunters can also pursue bear, grouse, squirrel and turkey. This moderately rugged forest is composed of hardwoods and pine trees. To reach Calvin Price State Forest, take State Route 39 east of Marlinton. View the Calvin Price State Forest map here.

Note: There are specific point and width restrictions in place for deer hunting. Hunters should contact the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources for more information.

Seneca State Forest

Seneca State Forest offers in-season hunting on 11,000 acres of woodland. Hunters can pursue turkey, deer, bear and small game. A valid hunting license and necessary permits are required to hunt within the forest. Apply for permits in advance.

Rimel Wildlife Management Area

Rimel Wildlife Management Area spans a vast 67,251 acres characterized by mountainous terrain and a mix of oak-hickory, oak-pine and northern hardwood forests. This area is home to bear, deer, grouse, rabbit, squirrel and turkey. Access to Rimel Wildlife Management Area can be obtained via State Routes 39, 28, 92 and 84. Tea Creek Wildlife Management Area

Tea Creek Wildlife Management Area covers 67,919 acres featuring mountainous terrain primarily covered by northern hardwood forests. Hunters can find bear, deer, grouse, snowshoe hare, squirrel, and turkey in this area. Access to Tea Creek Wildlife Management Area is available via State Route 39 and the Highland Scenic Highway.
