The Veterans Arts and Nature Retreat Series is back! Veterans and their loved ones will gather again on Yew Mountain Center’s 500-acre nature preserve to develop skills in community.
The Creative Appalachian Mountain Opportunities (CAMO) program offers full scholarships for Veterans to receive hands-on instruction for a functional craft. The Forge and Frame Retreat, will feature the Old World arts of timber framing and blacksmithing taught by local craftsmen.
This first retreat runs October 28, through Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The series continues in April 2027 with two more retreats with teaching artisans from the Pocahontas County Artisan Co-op.
