Join us at Fort Warwick, in Green Bank, on May 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for archaeology and fife and drum militia presentations.
Fort Warwick was built in the summer of 1774 during Lord Dunmore’s War, and used through the American Revolution. Militia were stationed here and settlers took refuge in the fort in during raids by Native Americans. Archaeology is the best way to learn about the layout of the fort, and the material culture in use by its occupants. Visitors can watch and participate if desired.
This event is supported by grants from the Appalachian National Forest Heritage Area and the Cal W. Price Appalachian Enrichment Series.
