Farm-Fresh Finds In Pocahontas County
In Pocahontas County, West Virginia, farm-to-table isn’t just a popular trend — it’s a fundamental part of our culture. Generations have relied on the land, from early hunters to today’s hardworking farmers, and that connection continues to shape our communities. Living off the land is part of our story, and we’re proud to share it with you.
Each week, browse fresh, seasonal produce at farmers markets across the county. More than just a place to shop, these markets bring together locally grown goods, handmade crafts and the genuine warmth of our mountain community.

Where To Find The Markets
The Pocahontas County Farmers Market operates in several locations throughout the week. On Saturdays, you’ll find vendors set up at Discovery Junction in Marlinton from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market moves to Green Bank midweek, where it’s held at the Green Bank Fire Department on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
During the summer months, the market also pops up during Marlinton’s First Fridays, running from June through September on the first Friday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. This rotating schedule helps make the market more accessible to residents and visitors across the region.
More To Discover
In addition to farm-fresh produce and locally made products, many of these market events include craft and art vendors as well. First Fridays feature even more to enjoy, with live music, family-friendly activities and extended hours at the shops and restaurants along 9th Street and 3rd Avenue. Be sure to check our events calendar for more details.
Beyond The Farmers Market

Local support for fresh, regional goods doesn’t end with the farmers market. In Hillsboro, The Levels Depot blends convenience and local charm, offering everything from meats and eggs to vegetables, breads, honey, maple syrup and locally roasted coffee. HandMade WV Market in Marlinton features shelves stocked with West Virginia-sourced foods like jams, honey, grains and baked goods, alongside locally made art and daily lunch specials.
At the base of Snowshoe Mountain Resort, the Linwood Market is located inside the Linwood Library and Visitor Center. The market features a selection of local produce, meats, cheese, honey, syrup and more. Just outside at the Linwood Alive Pavilion, find fresh flowers, homemade baked goods and other locally made items. The farmers market reopens for the season on June 5 and will be open every Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.
Green Bank is home to Homegrown Harvest, a farm-to-table market that works with more than 25 growers, producers, bakers and artisans from West Virginia, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The shop offers fresh flowers, produce and locally made items for an authentic feel of the region.
