Cal Price Appalachian Enrichment Series

Calvin W. Price was a beloved Appalachian voice and longtime editor of The Marlinton Journal. A dedicated conservationist, he helped establish Calvin Price State Forest and championed the preservation of Pocahontas County’s natural and cultural heritage.

His legacy lives on through the Calvin W. Price Appalachian Enrichment Series—presented by the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau—celebrating the stories, traditions, and spirit of our mountain communities.

Through immersive events like heritage tours, craft demonstrations, storytelling, workshops, and performances, the series invites travelers to experience authentic Appalachian culture.

Come connect with the heart of Mountain Culture—right here in Nature’s Mountain Playground.
