Constructed by Virginia militia at the forks of Deer Creek in 1774, Fort Warwick’s 250th Anniversary will feature colonial reenactors and artisans as well as musicians demonstrating 18th century music at the site in Green Bank, Pocahontas County, West Virginia. Archeological excavations of Fort Warwick will be ongoing and visitors can participate and observe. Tours of Fort Warwick Museum will have displays of artifacts and the fort replica, as well as historical booklets on frontier defense of the region for purchase. The Warwick historic cemetery and a sugar shack which produces maple syrup using traditional techniques may also be toured.
