Participants will practice mindfulness and learn basic breathing and stretching techniques to help ease tension and relax the mind and body. Mindfulness is a type of meditation focusing on being aware of what you are sensing and feeling in the moment. In this 45-50 minute class, we will learn basic and gentle breathing techniques, beginning yoga, and stretching poses to help relax the body and mind as well as ease stress. We will use a chair for some poses and modifications can be made for limited mobility. No experience necessary and beginners are welcome!
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes that can be easily removed. Yoga blocks and mats are not necessary, but bring them if you have them.
The registration for this class includes a 6 week series, each Monday starting with July 18 through August 22nd.
