Born in Hillsboro, West Virginia, Pearl S. Buck was a literary genius, a social activist and humanitarian. As the first American woman to ever be awarded a Pulitzer Prize for her 1931 novel, “The Good Earth,” Buck’s life was an extraordinary journey with incredible starts in Pocahontas County, West Virginia.
